A real vacation, ahhh...

Yes I should be in the bed now, but when I think about the amount of sleep I am planning on getting over the next 5 days, I really don't care right now! We are leaving in the morning for New Orleans, where we will get on board the Carnival Fantasy until Monday! We will be in Cozumel on Saturday. This will be my 4th cruise, and Garrett's third, so we have cruised before and know what to expect, but this one will be very different than the ones before! Our last "real" vacation was to Gatlinburg with a large group of friends right after I found out I was pregnant with Paige (December 2005). Our last cruise was December 2004 with that same group of friends, before any of us had kids! Now we all have at least one or one on the way! Paige will not be going on this trip with us, it will be our first time away from each other for more than one night. I had been begging Garrett for a "just us" trip for a few months, and the cruise was his idea. We are very excited, and a little sad about leaving our little munchkin, but we know that we both really need this vacation. I think she will be fine, she loves to stay with her grandparents and aunties, I am just a little worried about the amount of time, that she may not understand how long we are going to be gone. But her Bear Bear made her a paper chain to help her count down the days until Mommy and Daddy get home, so I think that will help a lot. I have been excited about this for awhile, but now that it is right upon me, I honestly think I am not going to know what to do with myself! I plan on doing a whole lot of nothing, but I realize now that I am not used to that at all! I hope I don't get bored! There will be no cooking, cleaning, worrying about what to eat, wear, no potty training or whining! ha! No toys all over the place! I can do whatever I want to do! SLEEP REALLY REALLY LATE! That is what I am most looking forward to! Sad, huh? I want to relax, but if I get bored I might think too much about how I miss my little stinker and my busy mommy life at home! But maybe not! I guess we will see! I have a book that my daddy lended me to read, and an Eeyore needlepoint that Paige wanted me to make for her. Two things I like or would like to do, but never have time! I guess I will wrap up and hopefully go to bed soon!

  1. I hope you read the book, do the needlepoint, get some sun, lots of good sleep, time alone and time alone with your husband, and some well-deserved relaxation including a lot of fun and laughs. Laugh, laugh, laugh It's good for the soul! Can't wait to hear about your trip. We've already torn off one chain and talked about it. I think after we get to the yellow one, she is going to completely understand the concept. She's a very smart little girl.
